The people who make the game deserve a credit, and it gives the players a reminder that there are people who put in a lot of love and effort on their behalf. Give them a moment of respect at the end of the game, eh?
Oh yeah, and don't forget to laugh at the emperor dancing!

I read the credits, not all of them, just looked at the composers and some of the voice actors. Oh, in response, it's not Anet's place to care about your opinions of not having it shown. They aren't going to bother with the issue that you don't care, they only hold hope towards those that do care, and when you read the credits you are acknowledging the creators of the game that you had played.
In some small way, it does matter who makes the game, so they will read it. Unfortunately, no, it doesn't matter for you to know who made the game, just as much as it doesn't matter for them to know that you play the game.

Amen!!

Credits are fine, the people who worked on this game deserve to have their names on a reel.

to the OP, with all due respect, if you do not want to watch the credits (which i firmly believe brings a sense of closure to factions): MAP OUT.
it is the availability of the MAP OUT feature that makes your post moot.
P.S. with regards to Prophesies, i guess the reason they haven't done one in Tyria is possibly because things there haven't really ended just yet? matter of fact, after accomplishing Hell's Precipice, you are zoned to Droknar's Forge where Glint has her Titan's Series of quests for you to accomplish ... also note Last Day Dawn's ends and nothing happens. maybe there is a future for Ascalon and Gwen?

I think the credits should appear as normal but there should be a small button that says skip credits at the side of your screen. Then people are more likely to view the credits than if you asked a npc to show them to you.

No one forces you to watch it. You can map out/exit to Kaineng at any time.
